Lacoste: Tennis-Themed Fantasy!

lacoste_garros1You all know that I’m a huge fan of all tennis-fabulous styles to be adopted off-court as well. Who can actually resist this gorgeous Lacoste polo-dress with elegant see-through short sleeves? It’s coming from the latest limited edition Roland Garros Collection that will for first time be carried in the US and outside the Roland Garros Stadium. It includes men’s and women’s super-cool items celebrating the 2015 French Open tennis tournament in Paris. Just keep in mind that Lacoste has been the official outfitter of this famed Grand Slam championship for 40+ years and the 2015 pro matches start on May 24th and last until the Finals on June 5th.

I adore this collection’s clean lines and sharp yet delicate contrasts! Everything is graphic, modern and functional; a direct embodiment of the brand’s athletic DNA but also a transition to an era in which sporty is part of our daily lives!

The women’s line consists of sober clothing suitable for tennis courts. Soft-tinted T-shirts, polo shirts and polo dresses have been carefully designed with an eye for detail. Femininity is achieved through transparency when mesh appears on the sleeves or neckline of a dress. René Lacoste’s maxim “L’essentiel est que demeure le Fair play” (The main thing is that fair play prevails) boldly appears on T-shirts and sweatshirts, as if to serve as a constant reminder to the players on the court. These pieces are all in my wishlist!

lacoste_garros2And for my hubby, I shall definitely get the classic polo shirt that can be worn alone or layered under a technical jacket and a vintage sweatshirt. Various portraits of René Lacoste appear on T-shirts, while his off-white embroidered silhouette is seen across polo shirts. I love it!

The Roland Garros leather goods line fully matches the ready-to-wear collection. Totes, pouches and bags are made from ‘petit piqué’ – like waxed canvas upon which can be read, as a guideline, René Lacoste’s words. Let’s go for shopping!
