Inspired by Alicia Silverstone’s character Cher in “Clueless,” the Rodarte FW21 collection lookbook is also featuring the actress among other models. Sisters and designer duo Kate and Laura Mulleavy reinterpreted the 90s in comfy retro dresses, stretchy loungewear, and sequined special-occasion looks.
Pastels — especially pink — and black dominated the color palette in an attention-grabbing, cinematic collection. Floral motifs, dramatic headgear with veils and feathers, opera-length gloves, and vintage silhouettes have transformative powers.
At the same time, there are comfy entries in the high-impact mix, along with neons, big pockets, and roomy varsity jackets for all genders. This season’s offerings have a signature whimsical feel but also more wearability to them. They are young and fresh, and exciting!
