Tory Burch Fall/Winter 2022: On New York Fashionistas

An explosion of color, asymmetries, and intriguingly versatile silhouettes is what we see in the Tory Burch FW22 Collection presented on the runway during NYFW. Athleisure expands into daywear and eveningwear that is statement and effortless. Stretchy fabrics, roomy winter outerwear, an eye-catching belt style that polishes every look, layering of long-sleeve and short-sleeve tops, motif clashes, and sophisticated contrasts are part of the game.

Billowy skirts and pants with figure-flattering self-tie details, spacious bags, cozy coats make for the perfect morning look. Extremely thoughtful and practical without sacrificing any style points.

Draping that borrows from Greek goddess statues is reinvented to fit the needs of a modern urban wardrobe. The combos are fun and unexpected. Color-blocking acquires an artistic dimension. A modernist approach, a feminine touch, and the quest for something empowering are always on Tory’s agenda.

As the designer explains, “The Fall/Winter 2022 collection started with women on the streets of New York. Unique characters who catch our eye in fleeting snapshots. We explored this through the lens of shape, geometry, color and convertibility. A study in contrasts: tailored and deconstructed, opulent and spare, surrealist and sporty. The spirit of American sportswear is the through line connecting our seasons. Optimism and ease balance the collection’s heightened sense of luxury.”

We couldn’t guess her original inspo, yet it makes total sense. These clothes are made to impress, yet they are also made to be worn a lot and feel comfortable. NYFW streetstyle was graced by some incredible Tory Burch looks.

Their athletic and edgy aspect appeals to women of all ages, gaining further ground from a younger clientele. New York fashionistas will be wearing them coming next season because they are the muses in the first place.
