Moonlight-driven and midnight-inspired, Ourania_Kay, last season’s winner of the AXDW “Best Catwalk” award, created a futuristic Fall/Winter 2011/12 collection full of energy and mystical charm. Silvery faces made the perfect antithesis with the total black looks and the perfect match with the thin metallic-shade adornments. Strategically placed “flashes” on the garments and the accessories, made the pieces appear very elegant, modern and sophisticated. Transparencies were used as a means of putting emphasis on the thick and opaque portions of the styles. Bright trimming graced even more the geometrical and surreal forms, putting a clear, definite outline on them. The interplay of volumes was smart, awesome. The cocoon-like hood, the cheekbone or temple-high stand-up collar, the silvery-stripped little-black-dress, the curvilinear-patchwork tight pants, the umbrella skirt, the lustrous cuffs and shiny metallic blue ankle boots were true fashion statements. Among them there were excellent classic, ultra chic pieces such as the wasp waist wide pants and the narrow tulip skirt, which can easily be the key to a super elegant business or evening look.
