Lorenzo Seghezzi FW25: A Raw, Seasonless Ode to Identity and Liberation

At the Fondazione Sozzani during Milan Fashion Week, designer Lorenzo Seghezzi presented a powerful, deeply personal vision for Fall/Winter 2025—one that rejects trends and embraces transformation. His new seasonless collection, titled “Epitelio,” blurred the boundaries between fashion and identity, challenging norms and celebrating the freedom to be seen and felt beyond binary constructs.

Rooted in introspection, the collection takes its name from the epithelium—the body’s outermost layer—and delves into themes of body dysmorphia and gender dysphoria. These themes were not treated as fleeting narratives but as the foundation for a visceral exploration of the human experience. Through silhouettes that defy conventional structure, garments floated away from the body or clung uncomfortably close, mimicking the emotional friction of living in a body that doesn’t always feel like home.

Seghezzi, known for their intimate connection to Milan’s queer community, presented the collection as both a sartorial and social statement. This wasn’t just fashion—it was a mirror held up to the complex realities of trans and queer individuals, expressing both the pain of societal constraints and the beauty of self-creation. Each look embodied that duality: corsetry both embraced and imprisoned the form, while distorted tailoring evoked a sense of not-yet-found belonging.

What sets Seghezzi’s work apart is their total commitment to craftsmanship and authenticity. Every piece was hand-stitched by the designer and their small team, imbuing each creation with a deeply personal narrative. As ever, irony danced with seriousness in the collection’s aesthetic—a deliberate provocation against rigid aesthetic standards.

“Epitelio” positions Lorenzo Seghezzi as a voice in fashion who dares to speak about the unseen, the unspoken, and the fluid. It is a collection that invites reflection while championing the right to exist unapologetically. In a world still learning to embrace difference, Seghezzi offers not just clothes, but armor for identity.
