As London enters the height of the social season, The Dorchester is unveiling a vivid new chapter in Mayfair luxury with the arrival of its Summer Garden in collaboration with Italian lifestyle house La DoubleJ. Timed to coincide with the 2026 Chelsea Flower Show, the installation transforms the legendary hotel into a kaleidoscopic celebration of color, craftsmanship, and alfresco elegance.

Created alongside La DoubleJ founder J.J. Martin, the immersive garden experience extends from The Dorchester’s celebrated Vesper Bar into a dreamlike outdoor setting layered with exuberant prints, sculptural design, and theatrical florals. The atmosphere reflects the Milan-based brand’s signature philosophy of “Raise Your Vibration,” a spirit that has earned La DoubleJ a devoted international following since its launch in 2015.
Against the backdrop of Mayfair, the garden unfolds as a sensory escape infused with Southern Italian warmth. La DoubleJ’s iconic Napoli Rosa motif sweeps across the space through carpets, textiles, cushions, and table settings, creating a vibrant visual rhythm inspired by Mediterranean romance. Patterned linens, richly hued glassware, and sculptural ceramic vases add dimension throughout the installation, while oversized parasols and lush botanical arrangements heighten the atmosphere of escapism.

Towering kinetic sculptures by American artist Lyman Whitaker introduce movement into the garden, their wind-driven forms shifting gently among the greenery. Interwoven throughout the design is La DoubleJ’s Fantastic Creatures print, an imaginative motif of blooms, birds, and fantastical flora that brings an almost surreal quality to the experience. The result feels cinematic yet intimate, blending art, fashion, hospitality, and nature into one immersive world.

The collaboration arrives during a landmark year for The Dorchester as the hotel completes its extensive four-year renovation journey. The unveiling of the Summer Garden precedes the debut of the highly anticipated Royal Suite in June 2026, marking a significant new era for one of London’s most storied addresses. Since opening in 1931, The Dorchester has remained synonymous with refined British glamour, welcoming royalty, artists, cultural icons, and global tastemakers through its doors.

Culinary director Martyn Nail has curated a menu designed to match the relaxed sophistication of the setting. Guests can expect a polished selection of Italian-inspired dishes created for long lunches, sunset cocktails, and elegant aperitivo hours. Seasonal plates include swordfish crudo, courgette flower fritti with grilled prawns, and morsetti di lasagne, alongside indulgent focaccia sandwiches layered with combinations such as bresaola, mozzarella, pesto, and sun-dried tomato. An insider-only focaccia featuring crispy chicken, burrata, and Oscietra caviar adds a discreet touch of exclusivity for those in the know.

For J.J. Martin, the partnership represents a natural alignment between hospitality and emotional storytelling through design. Her maximalist visual language, deeply rooted in Italian artisanal traditions and energetic living, has become instantly recognizable across fashion, interiors, jewelry, and homeware. At The Dorchester, that aesthetic takes on a distinctly London mood, where classic elegance meets joyful irreverence in the middle of Park Lane.

The installation will remain open through September 2026, positioning itself as one of the capital’s most desirable summer destinations during a season already energized by the Chelsea Flower Show and London’s flourishing cultural calendar. With its collision of Italian glamour, floral fantasy, and modern luxury, The Dorchester’s Summer Garden captures the spirit of contemporary hospitality at its most expressive and transportive.
