New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2014 Day 1

The very first day of the New York MB Fashion Week went by so fast that it really shows the magic powers of fashion to defy time and transcend limits! There was an explosion of youth and creativity by talented students and upcoming designers of the Supima completion and the Art Institute of NYC! Rachel Zoe who was special guest at the event delayed due to traffic and arrived just at the time she had to give the award to the winner! Nicholas K proved to be a fresh brand with continuity in its charming urban style while Tadashi Shoji hypnotized us with lots of lace and transparencies in neutral tones. GBK and The Fashion Group International joined forces for a greater cause kicking off New York Fashion Week by hosting an industry insider event benefiting LIM FEF (LIM Fashion Education Foundation), and I was there really having fun! The two-hour cocktail took place at the GBK Celebrity Suites Style lounge in the Empire Hotel. Fashion Icon and award winning costume designer Patricia Field graciously hosted the evening, which was a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the opening of the Fashion Week while supporting all those people interested in fashion! The day finished with lots of music and fun at the Nicholas K after-party at Pravda with lots of vodka! Though many jet-laggers attended, they were all in great mood! Is fashion the remedy for everything after all?
