Et Ochs Spring/Summer 2022: Gorgeous Cut-Outs & Fit

This perfectionist designer has a glorious past and a bright future. After many chapters of creativity and a pandemic, we have another gorgeous collection, this time for SS22. But when and where did this all start? Michelle Ochs attended Parsons School of Design in New York City, where she received her BA in Fashion Design and received Parsons’ top honor of Designer of the Year in 2007. In 2008, she co-founded the eponymous label Cushnie et Ochs in New York City. For over a decade, under Michelle Ochs‘s creative direction, Cushnie et Ochs became known for its impeccable fit and sexy minimalist sensibility. Worn by influential women including Michelle Obama, Gal Gadot, Lupita Nyong’o, Jennifer Lopez, among many others. During her tenure, Michelle achieved both commercial and editorial success, was winner of the 2009 Ecco Domani Award, finalist for the 2011 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund, nominee for the 2012 CFDA Swarovski Award for Womenswear and 2010 Fashion Group International Rising Star Award, and featured as Forbes 30 under 30. She has been an active member of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) since 2012. Michelle Ochs is the Founder and Creative Director of ET OCHS, launched in 2021. The vision for ET OCHS is to create timeless staples that blur the line between the desire to look sexy and feel comfortable.

ET OCHS is a luxury womenswear collection based in New York City. Its aesthetic is rooted in clean lines and artful tailoring, exuding a refined sense of femininity and minimalist sophistication. The Spring 2022 Season celebrates the launch of Et Ochs.

Inspired by the abstract artwork of Peter Zimmermann, the Et Ochs Spring 2022 Collection explores the contrast between sculptural and fluidity. An evolution of the inherently clean, sculptural nature of the Et Ochs aesthetic, this season introduces a feeling of considered ease – utilizing elasticated details, manipulation of gathers and smocking, most garments are devoid of closure. Polish and comfort are at the forefront.

A nod to Zimmermann’s glossy pour-like shapes of rich colors, this season’s palette features neutral hues of Buttercream, Frost, Dark Chocolate, Dune, Black, and White, contrasted with the fluorescent tones of Neon Lime and Fuchsia. A subtly refined interpretation of modern tie-dye inspired the custom print.

Core fabrications consist of Italian-made Stretch Cady, Gloss Jersey, Power Stretch Viscose, and Double-faced Silk Charmeuse, mixed with novelty introduction of T-shirt Jersey and Stretch Sequins. Subtle Preciosa® Czech crystal trims were used as straps and back details – an ode to Zimmermann’s affinity for shiny epoxy materials.

Did you say anything about sexy, flirty, sultry, and sensational? It has it all, plus perfect quality!
