Capri by Ludovica Mascheroni: Twenty Years of Craft, Reimagined

At Milan Design Week 2026, Ludovica Mascheroni marks its twentieth anniversary with a living space that captures the essence of its identity—refined, tactile, and deeply rooted in artisanal tradition. Presented within the brand’s flagship store on Via Gesù, Capri unfolds as an intimate yet striking environment, where craftsmanship and contemporary sensibility merge with effortless precision.

Inspired by one of the house’s earliest design concepts, Capri reinterprets archival memory through a modern lens. The project draws from the timeless allure of the Mediterranean, translating its soft light and natural harmony into a living space defined by balance, warmth, and understated sophistication. Every detail is carefully considered, revealing a narrative that feels both personal and enduring.

The visual centerpiece of the room is an extraordinary artistic boiserie, crafted from inlaid Canaletto walnut. Its surface is animated by a rhythmic arrangement of 120 oversized buttons, each meticulously hand-covered in alternating leather and suede. A subtle LED backlighting system enhances the texture and depth, casting a golden glow that transforms the wall into a luminous, sculptural installation.

In front of this dramatic backdrop, the seating arrangement introduces a sense of softness and ease. The sofa, with its generous curves and inviting proportions, is upholstered in a refined linen-cotton blend, enriched with leather and suede accents. Flanking it, the “Lady Capri” swivel armchairs echo the same design language, offering fluid movement and a sculptural presence that complements the architecture of the space.

The composition is completed by a series of bespoke furnishings that reinforce the dialogue between materials. Side tables wrapped in suede and detailed with bronzed brass sit alongside a coffee table featuring inlaid Canaletto walnut trays, subtly recalling the intricate craftsmanship of the boiserie. Each piece contributes to a cohesive aesthetic, where texture, tone, and form exist in quiet harmony.

A palette of natural hues—creams, beiges, and warm wood tones—envelops the space, creating an atmosphere that feels both serene and elevated. The tactile richness of the materials invites a sensory experience, while the precision of the execution speaks to a rigorous artisanal approach that defines the brand’s philosophy.

Within the flagship store, Capri becomes part of a broader narrative. An immersive exhibition traces the evolution of Ludovica Mascheroni over the past twenty years, highlighting the materials, techniques, and moments that have shaped its journey. It is a celebration of craftsmanship as a living tradition, one that continues to evolve while remaining anchored in authenticity.
