The ex-Project-Runway contestant and finalist who ever since has dressed an array of celebs including Beyoncé, held his second runway presentation at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week with the debut of his Fall/Winter 2015 collection on February 17, 2015 in The Salon at Lincoln Center.
Inspired by clean lines and minimalist Japanese culture, the glitz and shimmers of Parisian lights and London layers, Michael Costello created a contemporary collection that appeals to women on and off the red carpet. While remaining true to his aesthetic, Costello incorporated hues of midnight blue, black, slate grays and metallics.
NARS Cosmetics created a makeup look that included a bold lip and brow providing the perfect contrast to collections darker hues. The hair styling, created by Cutler Salons, reflected the influence of Japanese minimalism with a towering mini bun standing tall on the head with a low pony tail in the back.
The collection was accessorized with luxury handbags from House of Borel, fastened from exotic skins, including anaconda, crocodile and ostrich, with accents of rose gold and palladium, adding a more opulent look to the Michael Costello collection. Paired with each outfit were custom-laced, knee -high, stiletto boots by Stella Hues, incorporating an urban influence to diversify the elegance of the collection.
The Fall/Winter 2015 showcase created a buzz with celebrity clientele that flocked to support the emerging designer (Chris Brown and girlfriend Karrueche Trans, Christina Milian, Lindsey Morgan, and Lilly Ghalichi). Each celebrity guest walked away with gift bags filled with products from Gilded Cells Skincare, a newly launched clinical skincare brand that reprograms cell’s molecular machinery to not only freeze the process of aging, but to reverse it as well.
It was an ultra-revealing, theatrical collection and we felt like divas-to-be! Love!!!
