In a season defined by kinetic energy and intelligent design, Valextra presented “Valextra Anatomy: A Study of Movement”, its Spring/Summer 2026 collection—a compelling fusion of architectural precision, elevated utility, and artisanal sensuality. More than just a seasonal showcase, this release signals the Milanese brand’s continued exploration of motion and emotion in modern urban life.
Known for its minimalist codes and meticulous craftsmanship, Valextra expands its creative vocabulary this season with innovative materiality. The newly introduced Senso nubuck, Sublime leather, and ECONYL® regenerated nylon act not only as mediums but as muses—offering a tactile softness and flexibility that complements the choreography of daily life. These textures deliver a new dimension to Valextra’s refined leather vocabulary, making the accessories not only beautiful but responsive—malleable to both movement and mood.
At the heart of the collection is the continued evolution of the brand’s signature Iside family, which gains two key silhouettes: the Iside Editor, crafted in Senso nubuck and Millepunte Soft leather, offers a relaxed yet elongated form ideal for the rhythm of city life; while the Iside Tìn, a compact and affectionate tribute to the Milanese term for something small, brings playful proportion to the luxury narrative.
Despite their updates, each retains the iconic Iside twist-lock clasp, a symbol of discreet yet unmistakable sophistication.
The Assoluto collection, on the other hand, embraces modern function with eco-conscious flair. Using regenerated nylon, Valextra introduces fresh iterations like the Assoluto Tote, Backpack, and Gym Bag—the latter cleverly outfitted with straps for a yoga mat. These are accessories engineered not for show but for flow, offering stylish solutions that anticipate the rhythm of real, lived-in luxury.
In addition to these larger pieces, small leather goods also take center stage: a newly designed glasses case with lanyard, card holders, and wallets round out the collection, each reflecting Valextra’s seamless blend of performance and elegance.
Creative direction aside, Valextra’s SS26 presentation was just as ambitious in its physical storytelling. Unveiled in an immersive installation at the brand’s Via Manzoni flagship in Milan, the collection is contextualized through a trio of sculptural window displays. “Iside Anatomy” suspends elements of the iconic bag—top handles, clasps, and panels—like parts of a kinetic body in motion. Elsewhere, “Icons x Handle” showcases a repetition of the sculptural handle with its distinctive Costa black lacquered piping, while “Iconic Lock” reinterprets the twist-lock closure in a rhythmic pattern, highlighting its dual identity as function and emblem.
“Since its inception, Valextra has observed the idiosyncratic gestures of everyday life,” notes CEO Xavier Rougeaux. “This collection continues with that focus, evolving our icons through new, sensorial materials that respond to the individual personalities of our customers.”
Indeed, the SS26 collection doesn’t just dress the movement—it understands it. In an era where luxury must multitask, Valextra delivers a masterclass in how elegance can be engineered, not just imagined.
