Sunnies for Dummies!

In terms of sunglasses, personally, I can’t get enough. But generally, to reach saturation point, a fashionista has to own all the basic types of shades. You can definitely wear a timeless and neutral pair of black or nude sunglasses with all your outfits , as long as you are not interested very much in fashion. If you choose to be a bit more playful though, you need a few more styles. Let’s go through the different essential types.

Black Jackie O or cat-eye (Anna-Karin Karlsson or Valentino). As I said before this is an absolute requirement. Oversized or cutely shaped, black glasses go with everything. Avoid fancy details or very trendy designs that will soon be out of fashion.

Ray-Ban. Aviators or Wayfarers or both, should definitely be part of your closet. Just figure out which type and color suits you more. They are affordable and always cool.

Brightly colored or colorful (Selima for Colette or Etnia Barcelona). Pick up a classic style in bright colors, something reminiscent of exotic vacations, crazy summers; days of leisure and relaxation! They can be the perfect highlight to a neutral, colorless outfit.

Τortoiseshell (The Row or Thierry Lasry). The most sportive and sophisticated nature of you comes out when wearing a beautiful pair of tortoiseshell sunglasses. It definitely has an androgynous feel to it but also very earthy, wild-life colors that can make you feel comfortable with. It matches every skin shade.

Affordable (Le Specs or Marc by Marc Jacobs). You don’t want to bring to the beach the most rare and expensive sunnies of yours. Just buy a pair for the days you are extremely active in the water and you don’t want to worry about your precious fashionable possessions. Buy sunnies from older collections or less known brands. I usually shop from Outnet.com. Just make sure that they have good quality lenses. You can even swim wearing them without fearing that salt or chlorine will ruin them!

Cat-eye (Miu Miu or Tom Ford). Did I say that before? Well, it’s just because I love this retro style and the playfulness it exudes. Buy a black pair, but also a colorful one! They are so cute and sexy!!!

I’m always savvy for new sunnies and summer comes forth as the perfect excuse to buy more. But besides that, sunglasses protect our eyes and the area around them from premature aging. So stylish shades secure a seductive gaze in all respects!
