For Spring/Summer 2014 Rebecca Minkoff suggests edgy combinations of materials inspired by Latina America and sportswear. It’s her signature tomboyish attitude instilled with exotic feminine elements such as the braided hairstyles, the embroidered floral motifs, the sexy cut-outs, and the selective use of lace.
At the MB Fashion Week in NYC we saw her models in super-minis, transparencies, biker jackets, hot shorts, and seductive sandals balanced with a very sophisticated and eclectic use of folk motifs, modern prints, and colors. The result was an unexpected mix of high fashion and wearability. Watching these marvelous smart designs, and listening to live songs by Janelle Monae, it was a very cool experience. Really enjoyed it!
