New York Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2014 Day 6

My sixth day at the MB NY Fashion Week started with the amazing space-age Diesel Black Gold show, featuring avant-garde metallic shine, dynamic silhouettes, high-tech fabrics, denim, and leather in an exquisite super fresh mix! The futuristic mood of Creative Director Andreas Melbostad proved to be both wearable and edgy, adding to the brand’s golden history more iconic pieces! The show had the hippest crowd of fashionistas as guests and despite freezing cold outside, I couldn’t resist the temptation to get a few outdoor shots of Chiara Ferragni, Natalie Joos, Suzy Menkes and many more!

My next stop was at the High Line Hotel to attend the Saunder show with impressive creations, glam details and warm shades! Bronze, gold and red were at the forefront! And the atmosphere – as one of the trends dictate this season – was decadent and spiritual at the same time! The designer fearlessly combined textures, rich colors and styles in a collection with strong 20’s influence and a modern twist. It was partly Gatsby, partly biker culture, and partly sportswear! This type of eveningwear doesn’t go unnoticed – especially the sequined plaid fringed dress which was one of my personal favorites!

Later on, I attended the Skingraft show, which exposed some cool design and impeccable tailoring together with edginess and subversive elements – the ideal mix for hipsters! There was a lot of darkness in this collection but it was highlighted by golden pieces or details – the zippers, the skirts etc.! Darkness – mostly black – was a major element in this Fashion Week – the tents’ indoor space was total black from floor to ceiling and walls! It was definitely cool and atmospheric! And I met more of the coolest representatives of this idea at the Timo Weiland after-party at Bar Nana in the Meatpacking district, where the designer hosted a party for his fashionable friends! Nice cocktails and cozy atmosphere, it was the perfect intro to our dinner at Buddakan that followed! Loved the delicious Chinese appetizers and all the rest! So stay tuned for more NY MB Fashion Week coverage coming soon!
