It’s true that wearing fur is one of the most decadent and debatable fashion choices in the planet right this moment, but still it’s one of women’s deepest desires! And what about extravagant design? In this case we could also call it extreme! Helen Yarmak’s new Spring/Summer 2014 collection, “The Fur Sensation,” was presented at her exclusive terrace penthouse showroom in the iconic Crown Building during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. The show was styled by friend and collaborator Academy Award Nominated Emmy winner Patricia Field, costumer designer of Sex and the City and Devil Wears Prada. Legendary Supermodel Pat Cleveland and her daughter Anna Cleveland Von Ravenstein, modeled the designs, walking through mannequin presentations styled and art directed by Field. Guests experienced the presentation in the legendary penthouse showroom that once was Hugh Hefner’s Playboy rec room, enjoying Marquis Vodka cocktails.

For the collection Yarmak drew inspiration from sensational patterns, color and brings this to life through her unique designs. Infused throughout are checkerboard, stripes and color blocking with colors ranging from black/white, petroleum, burgundy, purple, tobacco and natural Barguzine sable. Russian sable has been a sensation throughout history. Barguzine sable won the Grand Prix at the very first post – WWI Brussels World’s Fair Expo- ‘58 as “the most valuable, beautiful and elegant fur on the planet.” Other furs used are mink, fox, lamb, and ermine.

New shapes and styles were introduced with convertible coats to vests with detachable sleeves, coats to jackets with detachable borders, and hooded ponchos. Yarmak’s trade mark two-sided fur transformers – furs that reverse to exclusive printed patterns on the natural leather side of the fur. The fur transformers combine the traditional Tzars’ luxury of sable with advanced modern technologies and unique designs.

The exquisite Helen Yarmak style was also showcased in her 2014 jewelry collection. Highlights include Paraiba, a rare stone from Brazil, in addition to, one of a kind diamonds, emeralds, rubies, tanzanite and sapphires. This season she also introduced a new hat collection ranging from top hats to baseball hats. Helen Yarmak’s designs have been seen on Beyoncé, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Kate Moss, Madonna, Jennifer Lopez, Chloe Sevigny, Eva Longoria, and many more.
