Fit for Style

Wearable, well-made and beautiful, all the dresses created by sisters Clare and Mary Burgess – ex-Heads of Buying & Merchandising for Topshop – are going to be the key to every woman’s effortlessly chic image and wardrobe. Their brand Allium B gives countless solutions for various occasions or more specifically dresses that can be worn all day long, from place to place. They use nice fabrics and are characterized by amazing tailoring. It’s not about trends but basically about pieces with an all-time-classic identity. The designer duo draws inspiration from every day life and you can spot part of this creative process in their blog. Great emphasis is placed on the fit which has to be perfect. This is what Clare and Mary say on their F/W 2012 Collection: “The collection takes inspiration from original vintage pieces, reworked to create beautifully detailed modern dresses. We refuse to compromise on fabrics, so no nasty polyesters, just gorgeous silks, crepes and georgettes in this season’s deepest green, teal, wine, midnight blue and black. Extended shoulder button back shifts and tulip hemmed soft tunics can be worn loose or belted in for a more fitted silhouette. Understated, wearable shapes are given an edge with gorgeous detailing – 1920’s inspired embroidery on a belt or a hand stitched statement neckline. Ladylike belted shirt dresses, feature tiny graphic prints sourced from Liberty and Italy. When deciding if a dress makes the final cut, we always ask ourselves – ‘do we love it?’ If the answers yes, it’s in. We hope you love the collection as much as we do.”
