In their latest collaboration, Milanese wallpaper atelier Fabscarte and Chinese fashion house deepmoss merge their worlds once more, transforming the language of surfaces into wearable art. For Fall/Winter 2025, the two creative forces introduce Mostro Nostro—a pattern that captures the essence of water in motion, its reflections reshaped and reimagined through the lens of craftsmanship and poetic design.
At the heart of Mostro Nostro lies a meticulous engraving technique, where images are revealed through subtraction, layer by layer. Fabscarte’s artisans, guided by founders Luigi Scarabelli and Emilio Brazzolotto, developed the motif on paper rolls using a gel-based composition that produces a translucent, fluid texture.
When translated into fabric, this technique evokes the sense of liquid depth and fragmented light, making the material appear alive, rippling with quiet energy.
For deepmoss, led by designer Dido Liu, the collaboration embodies a dialogue between stillness and strength. The brand’s FW25 capsule collection interprets Mostro Nostro through silhouettes inspired by the Far East—rounded shoulders, supple structures, and spiral cuts that trace the body’s natural lines. The garments move with their wearer, balancing fragility and resilience, mirroring the rhythm of nature itself.
The partnership underscores Fabscarte’s ongoing exploration beyond interior design, reaffirming its ability to translate tactile artistry into fashion while preserving its essence: creating surfaces that tell stories.
Deepmoss, known for its soft-sculptural aesthetic and devotion to material innovation, transforms these stories into a vision of modern femininity—one defined by harmony, fluidity, and quiet confidence.
Through Mostro Nostro, Fabscarte and deepmoss continue their shared journey of craftsmanship and experimentation. The result is an evolving narrative of art in motion, where the boundaries between wall, fabric, and form dissolve into a single magical surface.
