Custo Barcelona: Charming Confusion

custo_barce1I liked very much the lighting effects at the Custo Barcelona Spring/Summer 2011 show in NY, though this element didn’t helped me at all taking good photos of runway models. Some Custo looks were really hot, preferably the dresses with the ribbon-like adornment, the cut out motifs, the feathery hemlines, and the sexy décolletés. Naturally confusing combinations of colors and materials seems with Custo natural and reasonable. Nobody argues against them, since they are a hybrid of Californian and Barcelonan genes. The two crazy, creative brothers, David and Custo Dalmau, capture the eyes of the NY Fashion Week audience since 1997 without any interruption. This time colorful leggings and loose, long vests were in the forefront. Geometrical forms in terms of big 3/4 sleeves and frills created interesting textures. The end product of so many seemingly incompatible features was full of energy and charm. I could almost wear everything from this collection!
