During my visit to the V&A Museum for the British Glamour Exhibition, I managed to take a few snaps from the main floor where older evening gowns once worn by the elite of the British society were elegantly exhibited each one accompanied by their little important story. All this miraculous craftsmanship of the British Couturiers really impressed me. Intricate details, innovative styles and techniques could also be traced in these creations. And the legacy goes on, as evident in the modern British ball gowns presented on the upper floor of this wonderful exhibition, where I wasn’t allowed to take any more pictures. Glamour persists, and all this grandeur of sparkle and creativity blends with other elements, and keeps up evolving. It was quite surprising that among other British designers I could see two creations of the recently successful London-based designer Mary Katrantzou who is of Greek origin and upbringing. London is a fashion capital where talents from all over the world mingle, reinforcing the local fashion scene, while making it more ‘international’ and interesting!
