Bonbom FW25: From Workbench to Runway with “Carpenter Couture”

Bonbom’s Fall/Winter 2025-26 collection, aptly titled “Carpenter Couture,” is a bold and deeply personal tribute to uniforms, labor, and the art of construction—both in the sartorial and symbolic sense. Presented during Milan Fashion Week, the collection reimagines the utilitarian wardrobe of carpenters and firefighters with an avant-garde spin, turning practical necessity into high fashion.

Creative Director Bonbom Jo found inspiration in the everyday uniforms he observed during a work stint in Paris—particularly those of the city’s firefighters, with their cargo pants and distinct red-striped tops.

This influence, paired with Jo’s longstanding fascination with the Carhartt archive, forms the backbone of a collection that combines rugged workwear aesthetics with the brand’s signature refined silhouettes.

Pieces like Detroit jackets, overalls, aprons, and wrap skirts are elevated with fashion-forward tailoring and subtle fetish-inspired undertones. Backpacks, bomber jackets, and utility vests are crafted with backpack-grade fabric, highlighting both the functionality and the sensual structure of these garments. Black dominates the palette, reinforcing the collection’s bold, minimalist approach.

Distressed washes, sweat-stain effects, slim-fit thermals, and tapered ankle cuts add depth and realism, while hints of harness-like buckles and sneaker-inspired eyelet detailing suggest a hidden narrative—an exploration of the sensuality behind structure.

Ultimately, Bonbom’s FW25 line offers an innovative, layered vision that celebrates both the physicality of labor and the elegance of craft, forging a new path for workwear-inspired luxury fashion.
