Assembled Realities: David Catalán Reframes Menswear for FW26

For Fall/Winter 2026–27, David Catalán presents Assembled, a collection that approaches menswear through the lens of construction, resilience, and everyday utility. Rooted in the pragmatic logic of traditional patchwork blankets, the season unfolds as a study in how garments are built, reinforced, and worn over time, translating familiar methods of warmth and protection into a contemporary wardrobe designed for real life.

The collection’s foundation lies in its methodical use of paneling and layered construction. Jackets, trousers, and outerwear appear carefully pieced together, with seams, sections, and material contrasts intentionally visible.

This sense of assembly becomes both a visual language and a functional tool, reinforcing garments while shaping silhouettes that feel structured yet lived-in. Rather than chasing excess, the clothes emphasize durability, adaptability, and comfort, aligning form closely with purpose.

Material play is central to the narrative. Leather, denim, wool, and textured fabrics are juxtaposed across tailored and workwear-inspired forms, creating depth without ornamentation.

Paneled trousers reference utilitarian uniforms, while structured coats and jackets balance sharp tailoring with ease of movement. The result is a winter wardrobe that invites layering and personal interpretation, offering pieces meant to evolve with the wearer rather than remain static.

Color remains grounded and deliberate. Earthy browns, deep blues, muted greens, and warm neutrals dominate the palette, reinforcing the collection’s tactile and functional identity. These tones echo the idea of garments assembled over time, each shade contributing to a cohesive whole rather than standing alone. Accessories and footwear follow the same restrained logic, supporting the looks without distracting from their construction.

Assembled reflects a thoughtful approach to modern menswear, one that values how clothes are made and how they perform in everyday life. By focusing on structure, reinforcement, and wearability, David Catalán delivers a collection that feels both intentional and intuitive—designed to be combined, layered, and genuinely lived in throughout the winter season.
