Italian footwear house AGL unveiled its Fall/Winter 2026 collection titled BOWpulent, a design story where ornate inspiration met contemporary craftsmanship. Rooted in the brand’s heritage of Italian artistry and innovative design, the collection explored the tension between delicacy and strength through expressive silhouettes, tactile materials, and sculptural ornamentation. Founded in 1958 in Italy’s Marche region, AGL has long cultivated a reputation for refined footwear that merges tradition with modern design language.
For the season, the house drew visual cues from Victorian decorative opulence, translating its vertical rigor and ornamental detail into footwear suited to the rhythm of modern city life. Elongated proportions and architectural lines shaped the collection, while dramatic bows, corset-inspired lacing, and polished metal hardware served as defining elements. The bow emerged as a recurring motif, interpreted as a sculptural design gesture that infused each silhouette with a sense of character and femininity.
Loafers appeared in glossy brick-red patent leather, finished with an oversized tone-on-tone bow and double grosgrain ribbon that emphasized the collection’s playful grandeur. Some styles featured applied straps across the vamp, introducing hybrid constructions that blended classic elegance with experimental structure.
Ballerinas followed a similar path of contrast. Pointed shapes were crafted in plush teddy-effect wool fur and paired with sleek leather straps, giving the soft silhouette a subtle rock-inspired edge. Elsewhere, kitten-heel mules in laser-cut metallic bronze calfskin evolved into Mary Jane styles through delicate laces that wrapped around the ankle, creating a dynamic interplay of movement and shine.
Boots formed the architectural core of the collection. All-red kitten-heel ankle boots delivered bold visual impact, while combat styles stood out with voluminous yet remarkably lightweight soles. Each pair was finished with a dramatic bow at the toe, reinforcing the season’s signature decorative code.
Corset boots introduced burnished metal hooks and exaggerated ankle bows, perched atop sculptural wedges whose avant-garde profiles brought a modernist dimension to the Victorian references.
Over-the-knee boots in stretch nappa leather hugged the leg like a second skin, offering a streamlined silhouette that echoed the collection’s elongated aesthetic. Tube-shaped styles with essential lacing provided a more minimalist interpretation, balancing the ornate accents found throughout the line.
Material innovation played an important role in the narrative. Stretch nappa, brushed calfskin, suede, patent leather, wool fur, and cotton formed a rich palette of textures that elevated each design. The color story ranged from cream, beige, and powder tones to deep brown, bronze, and classic black, punctuated by vivid red accents that intensified the collection’s dramatic mood.
Beyond footwear, the season also introduced the new 3-in-1 Camera Bag, designed for versatility. The compact accessory transformed effortlessly into a clutch, crossbody, or under-arm bag, reflecting the same philosophy of adaptable elegance that guided the shoes.
With BOWpulent, AGL presented a wardrobe of statement pieces that embraced expressive detail while maintaining the ease of modern wear. The collection portrayed a confident woman who navigates contrasts with instinctive style, blending bold silhouettes, refined craftsmanship, and a distinctive sense of individuality. Each step carried the unmistakable signature of Italian design—assured, sophisticated, and unapologetically expressive.
