Off-Catwalk Style at MB Fashion Week!

Beyond the endless array of exquisite Spring/Summer 2012 catwalk looks on the numerous MB Fashion Week shows I experienced once again in NYC, I came across some awesome street style and fashionistas who were celebrating the occasion in the more festive and imaginative way. They all did their best to attract photographers’ attention and get their little share of publicity, their moment of fashionable saga. Leaving their trace in fashion history season after season, people in NYC escalate their style employing all kinds of vintage, couture, designers’ and budget ‘it’ items they invest on throughout the year, during the period when hundreds of fashion shows and events are taking place. NYC, normally an Eden of stylistic freedom and obsession reaches its maximum at that point, offering generously to all its visitors, especially fashion analysts, journalists and reporters, a unique sort of visual treasure and an incredible, multi-faceted source of inspiration. You don’t need to try a lot in order to discover such pictures. You just have to be there – at most shows and events – Lincoln and off-Lincoln Center – and that’s what I was doing. Watching the City and its fashion-conscious people is like filming hundreds of fashion shows at once. Some of the everyday life icons here have put a lot of effort on what they are wearing. Ultimately, the sheer number of them makes our ‘sartorialist’ ventures an effortless business.
