Once again I experienced the most fascinating Fashion Week in the planet – the MB Fashion Week in NYC – attending 25 fashion shows at Lincoln Center, the FNO and many other events and parties this September. I loved the Spring/Summer 2012 collections as well as the amazing fashionistas who came to see them and participate in the most crazy and luxurious fashion events. I took photos and posted the news. But let’s have a look at the official press release:

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week has a strong commitment to the local community and engaged various constituencies to execute new initiatives for the Spring 2012 season. Among them, the Lincoln Square BID, serving to enhance area businesses in the surrounding area, in conjunction with Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week welcomed the Fashion Plate and Crew Cuts promotions to support local restaurants. As well, young adults participating in New York City’s Young Adult Internship Program, an initiative designed to supply short-term, publically subsidized internships and work readiness training, provided interns who were on hand in the lead-up, as well as through the event in integral areas in the production of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. Similarly, IMG Fashion expanded its partnership with the New York City Housing Authority that was launched in February. Through the coordination with event vendors and the City of New York, IMG was able to offer employment opportunities to public housing residents over the course of the event and was able to expand this program to more NYCHA residents this season.
