Designer Tracy Reese is showing an edge for fall she hasn’t shown before. In addition to securing hot models such as Georgie Badiel, Gracie Carvalho, Chrishelle Stubbs and Ariel Meredith, Reese presented an alluringly chic collection. Reese has developed a taste for black lacquered fabrics and studding down the sides of pants. Fashion went through a “cleaning house” period during the worst point of the economic downturn and turned out some toned-down styles, but it’s starting to get its groove back with more inventive and interesting looks, Reese said. “My number one inspiration is my customer,” she added. The clothes at Tracy Reese featured lots of texture, chunky knits and turtlenecks in addition to the floaty dresses for which she’s known. Models with loose, curly ponytails, dark sunglasses, and Charlotte Willer’s Maybelline New York makeup, impressed everyone. Ruffled chunky cardigans, tweed jackets, sexy lace, racy high hemlines and slim-cut pants are the RTW collection’s main characteristics. Reese even created a few accessories such as extra-large scarves, elbow-length gloves and fur arm warmers. She emphasized in texture through the use of jacquard, crystal embroidery, and faux-fur trims. Reese herself called the collection “an eclectic mix of urban and rural style.”
