Best known for her silk caftans and timeless collection of luxury resort wear, Marie France Van Damme’s designs have become a “must-have” for the jet set.
Located on the sixth floor of Bergdorf Goodman (754 5th Avenue, New York, NY, 10019), the pop-up will feature Marie France Van Damme’s summer 2019 collection of ‘Dolce Vita’ essentials. The new collection includes glamorous summer dresses and evening wear, striking metallic swimsuits, and flowy silk caftans that are perfect for summers in the city, weekends in the Hamptons, or a resort vacation.
Inspired by the Splendido hotel and Hotel du Cap and the legendary 1950s jet-set era, the pop-up shop installation will transport clientele to a beach oasis with silver coated palm trees, inflatable buoys, and branded metallic beach bags. The pop-up will serve as a one-stop shop to complete the perfect summer look and offer everything needed to take one from city to resort, day to evening and pool to cocktail.
In the 1950s, jet travel became the de rigueur mode of transport reserved for movie stars, models, royalty and the wealthy. It was a dream lifestyle accessible only to the privileged.
