Harbison Launches E-Commerce Via Kickstarter!

harbison1Fashion designer Charles Harbison announces the launch of HARBISON: The New Classic Collection, a Kickstarter campaign. The designer aims to connect with existing customers and reach a wider audience by utilizing the popular platform as a beta test for an eventual HARBISON branded e-commerce component. The campaign will remain active until July 7th.

Harbison conceived of the novel use of Kickstarter as a direct channel for an emerging designer to bring his label directly to the consumer. He was encouraged to explore this innovative platform by mentor and fellow designer Patrick Robinson. The New Classic Collection consists of pieces that epitomize the HARBISON look, a composite of masculine and feminine, architectural silhouettes, and bold use of patterns and colors. Pledge options range from $10 – $10,000.

“As a designer, being innovative is an important aspect to not only designing my collection but also the business.  I want to take advantage of the opportunities that the internet provides and use these tools in an innovative way. Kickstarter is one of those tools. Currently there isn’t any label in the luxury category testing the waters in this manner.” stated Harbison.

Included in the twenty-one piece collection are the Island Cotton Panel Tuxedo Blouse, the Mosaic Sheath Dress, the cashmere/ wool Double Faced Robe Coat with wrap, the Upside Down Trompe L’Oeil Blouse, the Mosaic Midi Skirt and the Sunburst Silk Culotte. The Montana Leather Moto jacket, the Gladson Wool Robe Coat, and the Leather Banded Jersey Henley are designed to appeal to both men and women. A selection of the collection is available below retail price and consumers can opt for either full runway looks styled by the designer or separates. For the complete HARBISON: The New Classic, the campaign can be viewed at HARBISON Kickstarter.

HARBISON made its New York Fashion Week debut as part of the celebrated MilkMADE Fashion Week at Milk Studios in February 2014 and is carried at leading specialty retailers such as Ikram in Chicago, Satine in Los Angeles and Matches in London.
