Florentina Leitner SS26: A Dreamland of Summer Chaos and Sweet Rebellion in Paris

Florentina Leitner’s Spring/Summer 2026 collection, “My Heart Will Go On,” explodes like a sun-soaked daydream—a cinematic love letter to reckless youth, neon nights, and the fleeting fever of first love. Channeling the surreal suburban fantasies of Harmony Korine’s cult classics Gummo and Spring Breakers, the Austrian designer delivered a world where innocence collides with rebellion, and nostalgia dances beneath fluorescent lights.

In the dark setting of a garage near Place de la Bastille, models striding between cars, we saw some cool fashions that definitely draw from childhood memories in a smart, relatable way.

This season, Leitner steps boldly into pop-culture territory through a playful collaboration with Paul Frank, reviving icons of early-2000s Americana. The mischievous Julius the Monkey and his pink-eared muse Bunny Girl reappear on T-shirts, miniskirts, and accessories, filtered through Leitner’s mischievous lens. The result is both cheeky and sentimental—a dreamy remix of mall-culture kitsch and high-fashion wit.

Leitner’s heroine this season is the skater girl—untamed, glitter-dusted, and completely free. Customized skateboards and baggy shorts channel the spirit of youthful rebellion, while glossy textures, leather laser-cut details, and oversized neon skirts bring an almost cartoonish confidence. Hawaii-print florals nod to summer escapism, picturing a skater drifting through L.A. backstreets or the pastel haze of Miami’s boardwalks.

The palette pulses with fluorescent pinks, acid greens, and electric blues, offset by soft denim, washed whites, and hints of black-and-white polka dots. Leitner balances chaos with tenderness—a romantic tension between glitter and grit. Accessories heighten the story’s playful tone: monkey-shaped backpacks, neon-green bow clips, and pink braided-hair keychains that twirl in the breeze.

Jewelry, created in collaboration with Melted Potato, amplifies this sugary-sweet rebellion through chunky hoop earrings, floral charms, and miniature monkeys that shimmer with irony. Every piece tells a story of love that’s thrilling, short-lived, and unforgettable—a pulse that won’t fade even when summer does.

Ultimately, “My Heart Will Go On” is more than a seasonal collection; it’s a movie still come to life. Leitner captures that electric moment between adolescence and adulthood—the rebellion, the longing, the laughter echoing on a humid night. In her world, love may be fleeting, but it burns bright enough to leave a mark.
