Longchamp fw20: From Paris to NYC in the 70s
Catwalk — By Elena Sendona on February 13, 2020 at 4:20 pmA strong 70s vibe transcended the Fall/Winter 2020 collection that creative director Sophie Delafontaine designed for Longchamp. Showcased at the massive venue of Hudson Commons with perfect skyline view from the 25th floor, it was a great journey to the groundbreaking, rebellious decade in NYC, Paris, and the rest of the world. That youth quake is now tempered by urban aesthetics and busy life necessities, yet it seems that we are experiencing a quest for individualism and unconventional attitude again. The iconic accessories line is happily evolving into a very interesting ready-to-wear collection following the same high quality standards in sustainable materials and craftsmanship. From the original Longchamp 1980 It bag and the signature Le Pliage in extreme sizes (tiny or huge) we move to sophisticated midi-length silhouettes accented with artisanal details. Boots decorated with silver balls or striped trims are expected to be a great hit among fashionistas. Sportswear elements and a cool range of separates to be easily mixed and matched, speak of an elegant pro-comfort wardrobe. Urban chic outerwear includes jackets and timeless coats.
