New York Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2015 Day 2

News, Catwalk — By on February 14, 2015 at 3:02 pm

It was an amazing day full of cultural references, chilly weather and an array of talented designers showcasing the latest at Lincoln Center and other spaces across the city!

At Concept Korea I saw interesting design, impressive menswear (lots of fur, textures, shine and prints), some mesmerizing perfectly tailored neutrals, and a punkish vibe, all made by the extremely promising new crop of Korean designers aspiring to get into the American market.

At Mongol by Bayarmaa Bayarkhuu, I enjoyed the eye-catching blend of Mongolian heritage with modern day references and materials. There was even a live performance mixing rap with tunes from traditional Mongolian music. I loved the fringed details, the colorful furs and the fearless use of shiny fabrics.

At Mark & Estel, as always there was lots of Rock & Roll and Californian vibes, with revealing clothes and the designer duo singing on catwalk by the end of the show. I loved the see-through plaids, the high slits, the chunky shoes and the contrast of black & red! There was a bohemian flair to it, and that really worked!

At Sally LaPointe a very stylish crowd enjoyed the designer’s simple silhouettes, exquisite tailoring and neutral palette.

At Nina Athanasiou vibes were punkish, goth but colorful; even darkness was meant to be bold and the use of leather evoked a super-hero quality to the clothes. Styling was definitely a strong point there!

Then Charlotte Ronson gave us her own laid-back and innocent version of femininity with transparencies, retro elements, earthy tones and fluid forms.

To chat a little more about the shows of the day, I had dinner at Tutto Il Giorno (delicious sea food broth and tuna tartar) and drinks at Dirty French, the coolest place to relax and detox after a super busy day!

Fashion Week continues, and I’m here at the Empire Hotel, across Lincoln Center, so stay tuned for more fab news!

Love You!!!
