Always on the Move!

Inspired by the theories of human movement and expression, the Bibhu Mohapatra Spring 2014 collection draws reference from the methods that lead modern and expressionist dance – defying any limitation or regulation of self-expression and defining the modern woman. I love what he did for next season, especially in terms of prints and silhouettes. It’s always luxurious, modern and chic, with surprising elements and techniques. There is a miraculous juxtaposition of opaque and transparent, structured and light-weight flowing parts in his clothes. He magically mixes nudes with bolder statement colors, as well as sheen in those areas he chooses to highlight. It’s a pearly, subtle, ultra-elegant glow. His creations are not over-embroidered or over-adorned but still they are extremely glamorous and red-carpet. I saw the charm of below-the-knee skirts in this collection, which seem to flatter almost every woman when worn with high-heels!
