Nail-friendly Polish!

korres_nails1Nail polish is responsible for many of the white spots developed on the surface of our nails. Chemical substances that are not skin- and nail-friendly can damage polished or colored nails, one of femininity’s emblems. I was looking for something more natural and closer to the ancient Chinese lacquer recipe, which appeared around 400 BC. It was a mixture of beeswax, gum Arabic, eggwhite and flower petals. Though the recipe has changed a lot throughout the years, Korres, a Greek chemist and owner of a natural ingredient-based beauty brand, presents a more “innocent,” yet very attractive nail polish line. Its major ingredients are myrrh, trace elements and provitamin B5, none of which can irritate or damage the nails and the skin around them. Myrrh strengthens the nails and it enhances their elasticity by hydrating the keratin and nailbed. His color palette consists of various delicious nudes, reds, and dark shades.
